Network Marketing, MLM, Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing, or Direct Sales IS Always Harder at the Beginning!

Think of all the forms of Marketing I mentioned in the title like a rocket taking off heading toward the atmosphere. The rocket expends more energy during takeoff and its climb to reach the atmosphere and then outer space than at any other time of its flight. Once it reaches the outer atmosphere, minimum energy will be required to manoeuvre or fly. This is true in Network Marketing, MLM, Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing, or Direct Sales as well. To get YOUR business off the ground will take a lot of your time and energy in the beginning. Once you reach cruising altitude in your business, it gets much easier. And you can bank on most people taking about two years or less to reach that cruising altitude.

Sure some may do it faster or slower. The main factor that will determine your time to reach that cruising altitude will be YOU!

The question is……do you have what it takes to get to where you want to go?

Most people just play around with dreams of getting “lucky!” Forget about luck! Successful marketers create their own “luck” by taking consistent action every single day in developing their “skill set”. If you want to have success, get off the ground first! When you start out in marketing you’re like a space shuttle loaded with tons of cargo. That “cargo” wants to bog you down and keep you from taking off. The amount of “cargo” that you have will determine the amount of fuel and thrust that will be required for rocket to take off! And if you are like most people, you have plenty of “cargo”. This “cargo” is doubt, fear, and procrastination. To lessen the “cargo” or get off the ground you must have fuel and thrust! This fuel and thrust comes from a burning desire, your “why”, your belief level, your commitment, and most importantly your “skill set”.

If your reason for starting a Network Marketing, MLM, Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing, or Direct Sales business is not strong enough to overcome procrastination, doubt and fear, you will crash and burn somewhere between take off and the cruising altitude…the outer atmosphere. There will be technical difficulties that must be rectified…and excellent piloting! Most don’t even make it off the launch pad!

You will also need a like-minded team to keep you fueled up and motivated to attain your goals. There is simply no other way. Your Network Marketing, MLM, Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing, or Direct Sales rocket never lands, you need in-flight fueling that comes from a team that assists with feeding your attitude and cheers you on toward your goal or goals.

That’s why I HATE the hype out there. The hypster’s play into your desire to have something for nothing; they play into your fear of selling, meetings, time consumption, and the must of contacting people. It’s in our nature to desire things without effort. You must forget that junk! You must work! You must expend time, energy and make contact with other people! You must be involved with a team that will cheer you on when things get tough! You must use a system that anyone can learn and grow their business with!

AND

Don’t get involved with anyone or anything that promises the way of ease because you will end up being very disappointed!

If you want to make it BIG, you CAN! It’s up to YOU!

I believe in you….YOU must believe in yourself!

Know it’s always harder in the beginning. This will help you understand that struggling is normal, and it will get easier and more rewarding as you work at getting your business off the launching pad. Network Marketing is Evolving! Are You Keeping Up?

Weather you like it or not, Network Marketing has evolved over the years and is continuing to evolve. Most MLMers rely on ancient strategies to “get people” into their business. That’s the first mistake, “getting people”. Getting anyone to do anything they do not really want to do is USELESS (time-wise and money-wise), because that person did not intentionally want to be part of your team in the first place…until they gave in to your persistent pest-like behaviour. Those types of prospects never usually last long in MLM anyway.

The other BAD mistake marketers make is that they don’t incorporate technology into their marketing businesses. They don’t grasp the power of the Internet, specifically the power of Internet Marketing. Internet Marketing allows anyone who might be interested in network marketing or any home business concept today, buy from them and perhaps even partner with them in business without running around trying to get strangers to say yes to their business while they’re completely not interested.

The right system allows you to attract dozens of leads into your capture pages, into your marketing training system and finally into your business. Even if the prospect does not reach a stage where they are interested in your business, the system puts them in your list for future use. All the while relationshipping with them. And by being part of your list you can then offer them anything in the future (even if they said NO to your business).

This is a concept I battled to GRASP for many years, “how can anyone (even someone on the other side of the planet) become capable of purchasing products or services from me at a reasonable cost and feed my advertising budget in the process?” It made sense when I started understanding the power of Funded Proposals…Funded Sponsoring and Marketing using Front End and Back End Affiliate Marketing Strategies.

This amazing system helped me realize that building any business, especially Network Marketing or MLM, is easier than most think it to be. Funded Proposals created right allow you to attract thousands of leads a month even if you don’t have tons of money for advertising……because in an MLM business today you must have a lot of network marketing leads added into your marketing funnel in order to convert them into business partners. Without an adequate number of them constantly feeding into your follow up system you would face a hard time to build your business no matter the opportunity in which you participate.

The best way to accomplish that is to figure out where your prospects….people that may be potentially interested in joining say ….. a multilevel marketing company……are…and advertise to them or use other methods to reach them. The purpose of your advertising campaign is to turn them into leads, people that give you their contact information and permission to approach them with a specific offer. And what we find is best is to not approach them about your offer. Approach them regarding how you build your business.

After that they are part of your marketing funnel and you are contacting them many times in a specific manner in order to relationship and friendship with them giving them information of value all the time. Doing this right, may produce new business partners.

Giving them something of benefit is the KEY!

Positive Thoughts Lead to Positive Success

Many times people do not achieve the business success they truly deserve because they do not think positively or are confident enough. They haven’t got a true life vision or formulated a plan to achieve their life vision. By their lack of “positive-ness” they sabotage their success. One decision. One small action. One step outside of their comfort zone. (Mine was getting over picking up the phone and prospecting). Any action can be the beginning of a series of decisions that leads to a FEELING and KNOWING of “I can do this” and ultimate success. Sadly though…..most people don’t realize they were meant to live a life of abundance!

For the next few moments imagine there are no limits to what you can have or achieve.

What do you deserve in your life? Let yourself drift…imagine freely like you did when you were a little child! Nothing is to excessive or preposterous!!! Take out a pencil and paper. Draw a circle. Put in that circle the most important benefit you expect to gain from being successful in your business. That is your WHY. Your “why” must be powerful so make it big! Draw eight circles around this circle. Place in each of them other benefits you percieve and expect to gain from being successful in business. Now close your eyes and put yourself in the middle circle.

Target that middle circle….really think and focus!

Imagine you have attained that success. Put yourself there. Everything in those circles is YOURS.

SEE the house you will live in.
SEE the car you will drive.
FEEL the feeling of accomplishment.
FEEL the admiration of your friends, family and business partners
FEEL the freedom of being in control of your life.

It FEELS good doesn’t it?

KNOW that it is ATTAINABLE! Know in every cell of your body that your ultimate success is INEVITABLE! Do not let a negative thought slip into your mind or a negative word utter from your mouth. Surround yourself with positive people who uplift you. Negative opinions or utterances of other people are NOT your reality. You deserve to surround yourself with positive people! Live each day POSITIVELY. KNOW that you are succeeding.

The possibilities for your success are limitless because they are within you. Hang in there. Persevere. Learn the proper Skill Set to take action everyday to move forward. Think positive. And success will come to you.

What Are Your Options If You Hate Marketing on The Telephone?

Probably the most popular way of marketing a home based business is calling leads on the telephone. This method works for a ton of network marketers and home based business owners. However, not everybody likes doing business on the telephone and in fact some people hate it. So are there any really good options for people who hate the telephone?

Yes! In fact there are a lot of good options.

To start off there are pretty much two different types of marketing. Online marketing and offline marketing. Online marketing is great because it allows you to work 100% from home. You can literally make money and never get out of your pajamas. Offline marketing or local marketing (belly to belly) is good for people who like to get out there and mix it up. This is for those marketers who like to talk to people in person…you know those blue personalities out there.

Here are a few ideas for both online and offline marketing that really work!

Online Marketing

1. Article Marketing – This is a great way to draw traffic to your website or blog. It’s also a good way to share any type of knowledge that you may have.

2. Blogging – It’s fun and easy. You can pay for a blog with a domain name or you can start off by using a free blog. Blogging is personal and you can literally write about anything. It’s a great way to talk about your business and again drive traffic to your business website.

3. Social Networking – Social sites like Twitter and Facebook are really popular and once you check them out you’ll see why. They combine fun, and marketing at the same time.

4. Video Marketing – People like video. It’s one of the best ways to get the word out about your business or products. Video marketing is free and you don’t have to have the best equipment to benefit from it. Just a computer and a camera and you’re good to go.

Offline Marketing

1. Flyers – simple, cheap and if you do enough of them they can be very effective. You can do them door to door or put them up on bulletin boards around your town and local area.

2. Local Meetings – Easily the most popular type of offline marketing. The meeting does all the work for you. Just get the prospects to the meeting and let the meeting pitch the business for you. This is especially great for people who aren’t entirely comfortable pitching the business themselves.

3. Car Signs – You know what I’m talking about. You see them all over don’t you? While car signs can range from cheap to fairly expensive it’s a great way to advertise your business everywhere you go.

4. Talking To People – I know, I know, it’s way too simple and obvious but you would be amazed at how your business can grow if you just strike up a conversation with people you meet at work, at the store, or at your child’s school. Just talk to people, it’s really what the business is all about!

The question is…..what seems comfortable to you?

When all is said and done, it seems quite simple right. Choose a method of operation and just do it, right? Wrong…..most people have no idea what they are doing when it comes to any of the methods shared above. Surrounding Yourself With Positive People

This week I took the family to a Lady Gaga concert. Now I must tell you I am not a fan, and that is was AWESOME! Did you know she was told over and over again she would be nothing! She couldn’t sing! She couldn’t play the piano! She was ugly! She shared this story with audience and how she persisted and never gave up to fulfill her dream.

NOW she is one of the top if not the top performer in the world! How’s that for confidence?

Confidence is so very important in anything you do, and when you are first starting out in building your business from home you must have confidence. In many cases confidence can be the one thing that makes or breaks you as far as how much money you’re going to make or if you’re even going to stay in the business for very long. Even if you have a lot of confidence it can be hard to maintain it if you are surrounded by negative people all the time. That’s why it’s so important that you are constantly surrounding yourself with positive uplifting people.

Anytime you do something that is different or off the beaten path people are going to have strong opinions about it. While you might have a lot of people who think what you’re doing is great you will definitely have a few people (sometimes more than a few) who don’t approve of it or don’t believe that you can succeed. You have to learn to ignore the negative people if you want to be truly successful working from home. It only takes one or two really negative people to make you doubt yourself and your business.

That’s why spending time with positive people is so important.

Hopefully the people who are closest to you will be some of the most positive people. However, if they aren’t you can still find comfort in spending time with other people who are in your same business or work from home as well. Chances are that they have gone through the same thing that you are going through. When you have those people that you can talk to and confide in when times get tough you are much less likely to give up on your dream. So find and reach out to people who you can trust to keep you motivated and help build your confidence so that you don’t give up.

Finally, you don’t have to get rid of all the negative people in your life. You just have to learn to ignore them. All home based business owners have dealt with people who don’t believe in them and if you keep going and continue your path to success chances are they will change their minds. Until then ignore the negative comments and always keep a good group of positive people around you at all times.

Building Confidence: Are You Holding YOU Back?

In this article I want to talk about just how important confidence is to your business. It’s something that I don’t believe enough people teach their people and it’s so important in all business but especially in a home based business.

When you work from home you are really putting yourself out there and it can be really easy to feel like you’re never going to succeed. It doesn’t help that sometimes you might have friends or family members who aren’t supportive of your work at home dream. That’s why confidence is so important. Confidence in your business and your products or services and confidence in you.

You have to know that you can really do this! And when you know that it will make all the difference in the world.

If you are suffering from a lack of confidence you could be holding yourself back from something really amazing. When you think about your business are you thinking about it with fears and doubt? Do you ever think about what might happen if you can’t make this business work or you become a failure? If so you’re suffering from a lack of confidence and you might end up hurting your business. People want to work with confident, driven, excited people and even if you feel like you’re not showing your lack of confidence you probably are in one way or another.

So what should you do?

Focus on the positive things that you’ve accomplished in your business! Maybe you haven’t reached your goal but you’re probably farther along then when you started. When you start to see everything that you have accomplished you will start feeling better and stronger and with each small thing that you do right your confidence will begin to grow!

Also, spend your time around confident people. Read the books they read, watch the programs that they watch. Eventually it will start to feel real to you.

Finally, work on your outer appearance. Wear clothing that makes you feel good about yourself because when you feel good on the outside it will translate to the inside.

Don’t let your lack of confidence stop you from building an incredible business. Work on YOU just as hard as you work on your business and the money will follow.

Facebook Marketing Tip – Using Groups

Facebook can sometimes be a little overwhelming when you first get started. Especially if you’re new to the idea of social networking.

People tell me that they are using facebook to help out their business, and now that they’re on it they have absolutely no idea what to do with it. Once you have set up your basic profile on facebook, one of the first things that you should do is join some groups. Groups are just a bunch of people who like or have an interest in the same thing. It can be a business or something silly. Groups range from just a few people to sometimes millions of people and anyone can start a group, which is why there are so many crazy ones out there.

Groups are a great way to meet people!

By relatiosnshipping with these new contacts, they will get to KLT you. Know you, Like you, and Trust you. Possibly even turning into prospects. You can start out by joining a group for your network marketing company or simply a group for internet marketers. Perhaps you want to join a gardening group or a group about basketball. Once you’re in the group you can friend request some of the people in that group, which will increase your friends count …. and that’s always a good thing. You can also start posting on their wall or start up a discussion on the group page. This is a great way to become more interactive, more noticed and more social on facebook.

You’re also not limited to any number of groups so feel free to join as many as you want.

Say you’re a network marketer who wants to focus on recruiting stay at home moms. Well in that case you could join a group or two for your network marketing company, or just a group on marketing in general and then you could join some groups that are created specifically for the stay at home moms. There can be a huge list of potential prospects to KLT.

Remember though, that not all groups will be so keen on you using their pages for blatant promotion so you must be careful not to come off as a spammer. You must add some genuine content to each group and this will help more people to trust you and see that you have something to real to share.

Joining groups is a great way to get started marketing on facebook. You can meet some really great people and it will help you get more comfortable in the idea of social networking.

Is Google The New Yellow Pages?

Are you in business? Do you spend ridiculous amounts of money for a one year’s membership to your local yellow pages directory?

How’s that working for you?

C’mon…think about it. When was the last time you used the yellow pages to look up a phone number yourself? You either Googled for it, or you called 411 directory assistance right?

So, why throw your money away for something that doesn’t work anymore. This is what you have to ask ourself……Do you have a website that makes you money, or just an online business card? Because if people can’t find you, what good is either!

While reading a local newspaper today, there was an article written about the shift in marketing that is happening everywhere you turn. It was an interesting article, and the basic question was….whether to have a Yellow Page ad or a Google one.

Here’s a fact according to Newsweek…..over 91% of people say they use the Internet Search Engine (Google) to find local products and services. That’s staggering. Even well known computer and online geek Chris Anderson of Wired, says “You don’t define your brand anymore Google does.”

Smart local businesses are not advertising in local papers or local yellow pages anymore. Instead smart businesses focus advertising resources in building a solid web profile (a good brand) and getting ranked high on Google locally. Smart businesses know local consumers are more likely to go online and use Google to find local products and services.

Google is the new Yellow Pages!

Today you must have a good online profile, you must have a blog or a website, you must be willing to learn the secrets of online marketing or pay someone to do it for you and you must understand the power of branding.

Budgets are tight these days, and online marketing and branded web profiles are a very powerful tool! Just 5 years ago most businesses were using the yellow pages. Just two years ago most businesses were listed on the yellow pages online directory.

Today you must be using Google!

Over 76% of offline businesses will move the majority of their marketing online this year. Hosting, video creation, and list building will be key components to businesses coming online and having success. It’s like the gold rush from over 100 years ago.

Building Your Business With Facebook: Interaction is KEY!

Facebook is an incredible opportunity for online marketers if you’re doing it right.

Facebook is a heavily trafficked website and it has people from all walks of life on it. So whoever you are trying to attract with your home based business they are going to be on facebook in droves. Facebook is great for stay at home moms, online marketers, content writers, MLMers, even grandparents are on facebook now.

With all that diversity there is no wonder that marketers have jumped on the facebook bandwagon. However, if you’re new to social networking you might not be using facebook to it’s full potential. Facebook is not like a website or a blog. It is not just a place to throw all of your information up there and hope that enough people look at it. Facebook is a social network and being social is very important. Once you have a lot of facebook friends your job is not done. You have to be interactive if you want to use facebook correctly.

Being interactive means commenting on the posts of your other friends. Add your own insight and ideas and start a conversation. Don’t be a facebook hermit who only posts content but never talks to anyone else. That is the power of facebook. It allows you to interact with the people in your life so if you’re not doing that and you’re just expecting people to look at your stuff you’re not using facebook the right way. People will be much more likely to visit your website or take a look at the things that you post if you first show them a little attention.

Also, make sure that when you are posting your own content you’re posting interesting things that are thought provoking or helpful. Youtube videos are great things to post on facebook and the right video will get you more attention than a status update sometimes simply because it draws your attention.

The more interactive you are on facebook the better relationships you will form and the more people will be willing to take a look at your business or website. Don’t be a facebook caveman and never come out, get chatting on other peoples walls and start connecting with people!
