Network Marketing Skills

Have you heard this before? “Your WHY is the driving force that will keep you focused to do this business”…..”All you need is ATTITUDE and you’ll succeed”….. “Just talk to people TTP”.

Yep so have I, in fact I was told this over and over! I believed it. I eat, drank and slept this Network Marketing business plan. Did it work? For some areas of my network marketing business, sure it did. But it allowed me to fail more times than I wanted to. I really didn’t GET IT! And until you do, you’ll be on the Network Marking treadmill trying to walk faster and faster so you can slam your head on the wall to knock some sense into yourself. But you know what, you never walk fast enough, and you never get to experience the feeling of slamming your head into the wall and waking up knowing you have what it takes and believe in Network Marketing to actually be successful.

So let me save you some pain. I’ve already done the slamming…..

Network Marketing is a business model that is about utilizing your network and building new networks. Networks of either new business partners or customers. Network Marketing is becoming a business done by individuals who are busy, need extra income and can’t afford to leave their current job or career. Have you noticed that MLM has been the hottest topic in the community; it would be great if a marketer would be equipped with the right knowledge and skill set to build their Network Marketing business.

Here are five simple tips you can develop to increase your Network Marketing skill set.

Tip #1: Have a Vision of Success

This is the most critical. Every day set your mind to believe you can be successful. Programming is crucial. Tell yourself you are a professional Network Marketer, you are the top distributor in your company, you are handsome, your are beautiful. The sub conscious mind will make your thoughts become reality. This is how you stay motivated along the way.

Tip #2: Set a definite schedule and follow it

Stick to the schedule. Learn the red button activities. For your business to be successful, at least 12- 15 hrs a week should be devoted to your business or about 1-2 hours a day min if you are part-time. An adequate amount of time is needed for you to focus on how your business works and taking action to acquire new team members. Whatever you put on it, at the end you will get it.

Tip #3: Education is a continuous process

Continuous learning is essential to your personal growth and skill set. Bear in mind that in this world the only constant thing is change. For you to keep up with the changes, you have to be equipped with the latest strategies and knowledge. Reading a book a month on subjects you must get better at is key! Try to learn as much as you can. This helps you to be more of an attention catcher. Why? Of course, people around you always want something that they can benefit from. They will seek your help because you know better, right? You come from a position of strength.
Knowing how to speak with people is one of the most important skills you could ever learn.

Tip #4: Set a budget and stick with it

You must allot a certain budget for marketing your business. You do not want your business to hang in the halfway point due to lack of funds, right? That is why you must have sufficient funds to keep your business operating. You can’t expect your business to survive if you have no funds to use. Consider it as a serious business and not a hobby. It’s all tax deductible so make sure to create this budget and stick to it for 6 months and track your progress.

Tip #5: Be positive and maintain it

Do not give up if at the beginning you experience failure. This shouldn’t be a reason for you to just stop. Instead, take it as a challenge. Who knows, it might be something easy and a few tweaks and things could work out better than you ever thought they would! I see too many people give up after a couple months in their Network Marketing business. It’s sad! Work with your support team to determine what is happening. If they are feeding you old school tactics let me know….I would be more than happy to work with you!

Tip #6: Recruiting New People is key

This last tip is the most significant! You must have the mindset that some will, some won’t, so what someone’s waiting.

So be prepared and determined to be successful. Learn some new skills every time you can. Whether that is daily, weekly or monthly. Always be recruiting new blood!

To sum it all up, success doesn’t just knock on your door and then have it. Face the reality! You won’t have success unless you work hard and are ready for it.

Network Marketing skills can be learned, however there is a couple things you must know if you don’t have the marketing skill set yet. What I’ve shared with you above will work, and is just the tip of the iceberg. You must take action now and begin to see how your business will skyrocket utilizing a blueprint that will teach you the proper skill set and incorporate all the tips mentioned in this article.

Positive Attitude and Affirmations

You know, there’s an old saying that says…..”The Power of Positive Thinking can increase your Health”.

There are so many benefits towards having a Positive Attitudes. The benefits of which are well documented. Researchers of Positive Psychology find that people with positive attitudes are happier, healthier, and live longer than those with negative attitudes and habitual negative thinking.

Do you want to live longer?

So What Is a Positive Attitude anyway?

A positive attitude is simply leaning toward the positive aspects of any situation. Thinking positively is not putting one’s head in the sand, nor is it being unrealistic. A positive attitude recognizes the negative aspects of a situation, but chooses to focus instead on the hope and opportunity available within every situation.

Positive Affirmations Can Help You Change!

What should you to do if you seem inclined to focus on the negative? Even though you may be programmed for negative thinking due to genetics or your childhood environment. You CAN learn to move your thinking to the positive side. Learning to use positive affirmations will help. Learning to question and re-structure your thinking when it turns negative will help you think positively more often and stay that way.

Wake up in the morning and say, “hello world.” When looking in the mirror say outloud, “I am handsome” or for you ladies “I am beautiful”.

Properly constructed and appropriate daily positive affirmations are an important ingredient in correcting bad attitudes and negative thinking.

A simple way to explain it is through math….positive thinking + positive affirmation = positive attitude

Positive Affirmations and Attitude Training

An affirmation is a statement of declaration, a reinforcement of a strong belief. Regular use of positive affirmations reinforces positive thinking and can overcome the effects of previously held bad attitudes. Daily use of positive affirmations is a must!

What Is a Good Positive Affirmation?

The structure of an affirmation is vitally important. Word it wrong—as many people do —and it can have undesirable effects. Follow these suggestions and your daily affirmations will be positive, powerful, and life-changing, an effective tool of self improvement.

A) The first and most important thing to know about an effective affirmation is that it must be in first person format. Begin a powerful positive affirmation with the first person pronoun “I.”

B) The next important requirement is where people have the most trouble. You must format the affirmation in the present tense. Many people resist this and in doing so lose the power of their affirmation.

C) With few exceptions, the first two words of an affirmation should be “I am.” The words “I am” incorporate first person, present tense which starts the affirmation on a strong beginning. Follow these two words with the desired end result you seek. If, for example, your goal is to have a positive attitude, you could finish your sentence like this:

I am a positive person.

Here’s where many people mess up. Because they’re not yet behaving as a positive person they resist using present tense, instead they use a much weaker declaration like this:

I will try to be a more positive person. OUCH!

Read those two examples out loud and you’ll feel the difference in energy and power. Declaring something about the future sets an intention, but still lacks an important ingredient of positive attitude and the desired goal of correcting a bad attitude.

Emotion and Daily Powerful Affirmations

Passionate people achieve….PERIOD! Passion for a goal brings a near inexhaustible source of energy and resilience to attaining that goal. The I am statement is a firm and passionate declaration. The I will try statement is hopeful and dream-like. Which statement conveys more passion?

For a more powerful positive affirmation add personal emotions, such as this….I am proud and happy now that I am a positive person.

There’s so much more to know about using affirmations, such as the importance of visualizing, how habits of thinking can counteract a good positive affirmation, and being aware of accidental affirmations. But if you follow the simple concepts I have shared with you, and use them daily, your attitude will begin to rise.

Daily use of powerful positive affirmations will reinforce a positive attitude and positive thinking. Both are key components of a healthy, happy, successful life.

Prospecting Tips

Are your prospecting skills up to par, or are they still sitting there on the first tee waiting to be driven straight down the fairway? Do you keep getting rejected, everytime you approach someone? Is it your business? Is it your products? Or is it you and what you say and how you say it? Here’s how to hone your prospecting skills to become a better marketer and take your Network Marketing business to new levels!

The first thing you must remember is … “Professionals Sort … Amateurs Convince.”

People can sense desperation. Yep, even over the phone! If people sense that you are desperate and trying to convince them to join your business, they won’t join! Think about it; would you join somebody who sounds like they are desperate? I highly doubt it, I know I wouldn’t.

Another important rule to prospecting is … you don’t want everyone in your business either! You want people who are motivated and want something; people who are professional and trainable; people who are looking for change. You want people to make a decision to either work with you or become your customer, and this decision usually happens in the first 30 seconds. These skills I learned from Tom “Big Al” Schreiter. A long time veteran in the Network Marketing arena.

Prospecting is a fine art and your skills need to be developed. Repetition is the key. In the beginning, your skill level will be low and you must make up for that with more numbers. What I mean is that you must speak with more people to get the same results. As your skills improve, you will get the same results while talking with less and less people. I’m not saying to talk with less people, just that it will take less people to obtain the same results.

Prospecting is nothing more than communicating with people. It boils down to asking, listening and collecting. Oh did I also say your listening skills have to be up to par also? You have to ask questions. Questions that allow people to open up. This will prompt them to ask you “how” questions and “why” questions.

“How” questions qualify for your time, “why” questions do not. The “why” is their reason, not yours. You can tell them “how” but not “why”.

Then you have to listen to the answers and collect the information! Listening is a skill that is almost never taught.

It’s about them, not you. Find out what they want. What’s their “why?”

Once you find their “why” you have found their hot button. This is what will motivate them. In order to find this, you must learn to listen!

Secrets to Creating a Great Autoresponder Letter Series

Your autoresponder letter series, when written properly, will make you some serious money on the Internet. Studies have proven that most consumers buy only after repeated exposure to a product. This repeated exposure helps you to gain their trust enough to buy from you. I like to call this the KLT Factor (know like and trust). Zig Ziglar, professional sales trainer says, “It takes people 7 to 11 times before they buy”. This is why an autoresponder is so critical.

Having an autoresponder system is the hassle-free, automated way to put your product or service in front of interested buyers enough times to move them from “thinking about it” to actually “purchasing it”. There must be a form (to capture peoples name and email at least) on every page of your site to show how a visitor can opt-in for further information. Perhaps to join your ezine, newsletter or any incentive you can think of to get them to sign up to your autoresponder series.

I’ve put together some tips on creating autoresponder messages. You’ll learn what to say, how to say it, format it and avoid having your messages sent straight to the DELETE/SPAM folder unread.

    Here’s a breakdown of what your messages should contain.

1. Subject Line

The subject line is the first thing people see when they receive your message. It must be compelling enough to keep them from deleting the message unread. Learn everything you can on how to write good headlines, but don’t use hype. Since the person receiving this message has requested it, keep the subject on topic. Use powerful words like secret, but keep the subject line on topic……”The Secret to Autoresponder Writing”. Do you think that would get your attention?

2. The Opening Sentence

Keep this true to your subject and write it to be the most exciting. The idea of the first sentence is to get the reader to read the second sentence and so on. Expand on it without hype or pressure. Don’t mention the sale pitch, or tell them they must buy your product. Keep it promise based. For example…tell them what they will learn or gain via the information or service you offer. People buy on emotion and what’s in it for them.

For example say your subject was: Thank you ~ Name~, here’s the secret to earning a living at home. Your opening sentence might be something like this: “You’re about to learn the secret strategies I use to make a full time living from my home.”

3. Introductory Paragraph

Explain in a concise paragraph exactly what your product will do for the reader. Tell them how your product or service will assist them. Avoid using ALL CAPS or excessive punctuation!!! This looks amateurish and, in the majority of cases, gets your message deleted.

4. Sub-Headings and Further Information

Write bullet point type headlines with either bold letters or put lines above and below them to set them apart. Then expand on these headings in a paragraph or two underneath them.


With more information below it…

5. A Call to Action

After you’ve finished your sub-headlines and the corresponding information, use a pre-closing paragraph to tell the reader exactly what you want them to do. “Click Here” to download this information instantly! or Click the link below, fill out the form to have this ~~Product~~ delivered to you immediately. When possible, point out the uniqueness of your product. Is it priced lower than competitors? Is it the only one of its kind? Is it a limited time offer? You want to create a compelling reason to buy your product/service. Keep it honest of course. Don’t make something up just to get better results.

6. Closing Paragraph

Thank them again and also sum up what will be in the next message such as: “Watch your email in the next few days for a great thank you gift,” or, “I’ll have a free chapter, from my ‘make a living at home’ ebook, for you in a few days,” etc.


This is a short paragraph to remind people they’re receiving your message because they asked to be on your list. It will help prevent them from clicking on the “SPAM” button if they decide they aren’t interested in your product, and keep your autoresponder and Web site off Internet blacklists.

8. Unsubscribe Link

This is critical to a successful autoresponder campaign. You must give subscribers the option to discontinue receiving messages from you, or your messages will be labelled as SPAM. Most autoresponder services offer an automatic unsubscribe list for all your autoresponder series. All you have to do is make sure to include the link in your message.

One of the most powerful ways to get more traffic to your site can be your autoresponder series. Your well-crafted messages can send people in droves to your site to check out what you have to say. Just make sure you give them a good reason to go there, and great reasons to keep coming back and you will build a rock-solid autoresponder campaign that keeps your profits rolling in.

A quick tip on how to format the messages… with today’s advances in email, HTML is a good option if your autoresponder system allows it. Another option is to use both plain text and HTML so if a person has HTML turned off in their email software, they’ll receive the text version. To make your letters appear uniform (and to avoid the auto-wrapping many autoresponder systems use), don’t use more than 50 characters per line.

Kick start your campaign by offering a free report or e-book via a lead capture page with your autoresponder signup form attached to the autoresponder letters you create. It will keep a nonstop flow of people receiving your letters and coming to your site to buy your products.

10 Questions to ask Yourself

Have you ever thought about your future? Like where will you be in 10 years? Being all that you can be, is not only in the Army. I often see myself somewhat content with my life. Things are good! Every day I tell myself “I deserve more!” Just this one self talk moment drives me daily, and gets me up in the morning to aspire for more success in my life.

And here’s the thing. We’re all pelted with challenges. Some overcome and some submit. Honestly it shouldn’t even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we deserve to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream.

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks…oh ya just watch me!

Here are 10 Personal Development questions to ask yourself. Write them down and read them regularly. That old dog will be jumping through hoops before you know it.

1. What do I really want or deserve?

The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about doing them during the day right? BS….we all have the same time in a day. You must learn to schedule your time. Find something you’re good at. It will help realize that small steps towards improvement is possible. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2. Should I really change?

Today’s generation has taken another level of redefining ‘self’, or at least that’s what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it’s the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Sixties, Seventies or Eighties style wouldn’t appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance. My daughter still thinks I’m crazy everytime I get on a dance floor and “Takin Care of Business” is playing…..take that 8:15 to the city baby…..

3. What’s the bright side in all of this?

With so much happening around us there seems to be no room for even considering that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?

There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, shirt, tie, purse, and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.

5. Have I done enough for myself?

Have you, or is there something more you deserve to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6. Am I happy at where I am today?

It’s an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?

So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit. Not to appeal to others.

8. How much could I have?

I suppose in this case there is no such thing as having too much or too little. It’s more on how badly you really need it. Saying…I’d like to have lots of money, is fine, but the question is….how much are you willing to work for it?

9. What motivates me?

What motivates you? It’s an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of them may be the hardest part. It’s not like you can’t have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that’s it. Just try it piece by piece.

10. What Really Makes Me Tick?

So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you really deserve.

The Power of “Why”

You hear this all the time right? You need a “why” to be able to grow your business. You must have a burning desire (there’s that “why” thing again) to motivate you on a daily basis.

Call it what you want…

To be a successful Networker Marketer, MLM’er, Leader or business person period, you must first commit yourself to mastering the fundamentals. Immerse yourself in training….by reading books, listening to audios, working with people who are more successful than you. Get excited about practicing the fundamentals every day. Start with your motivation, since the key to success is actually located between your ears — your mind. Most small business owners, especially Network Marketers simply want to make a lot of money and don’t want to worry about such basic topics such as motivation. Yet without self education, you will give up when things go wrong or get tought rather than learn, adapt and ultimately succeed. You must practice mastering your own emotional state every day in order to create the ongoing level of success you deserve.

The first step to staying motivated is goal setting. With goals, we create our destiny! We must have a big enough “why” to succeed. We must have enough compelling reasons to drive towards whatever it takes to achieve our goals. Purpose is stronger than outcome. Who you become in the process of achieving your goals is the real purpose.

Why do goals work?

“You become what you think about.” If you develop a consistent and gut wrenching focus on something, you’ll experience it. The challange is that most people simply are not driven. Without passion for your real purpose you’ll never reach your true goal.

Setting a goal is acknowledging to your conscious and subconscious minds that where you are is not where you desire to be. Having a goal creates positive pressure, which is necessary to move you forward — you must learn to manage pressure.

Here’s how to create a big enough “why” for each of your goals.

Write down all you will gain from achieving your goal — why you’re committed to making it a reality.

Write down what it will cost you not to achieve the goal.

Part of what drives us in life is our desire, our hunger. Seeing and admitting that things are not as good as we want them to be creates a drive to make our lives the way we believe they should and must be.

Take some action. Complete this small assignment below and watch your success steadily increase.

1. List the specific areas of your life or business that are not what you want them to be.

2. Write down what you would have to believe to consistently follow through on the transformation of your life or business.

3. List the set of beliefs you would have to embrace to achieve your ultimate goals. What would you really have to believe, in order to not only set your goals but really achieve them? What would you have to believe to make your life the masterpiece it deserves to be?

4. Write down why you must change these situations now and why you know you can. You’ve probably already handled much more difficult situations at some point in your life. If you haven’t, now is the time to do so.

If you’re business, or your life, isn’t what you desire it to be and you aren’t on the road of more success, then you simply don’t have a big enough why. It’s not that people are lazy. It’s simply that they have goals that do not inspire them to act. Get passionate about your goals and you literally can write your own ticket to success!

Becoming A Leader – Leadershipping!

Leadershipping is an important quality. No…leaders are not always born, they are also developed! In my almost 20 years of marketing on and off the Internet, I find this one quality “IT”. If you don’t have it or don’t develop it, you will most likely fail in your enterprise. So I’ve put together, what I beleive are the qualities of a leader. Take what you want from this, and don’t forget to watch the video at the end….I think it will tie everything together.

Being a leader starts with knowing what makes up a leader. If you deserve to be a leader you must take stock in your abilities and strengthen those that deserve strengthening. Being a leader means developing the habits of a leader! The things that will allow you to achive your goals and help others achive theirs as well.

You Are What You Think

You have probably heard the saying…”You are what you eat”, right?

Well you are also what you think!

This is a good one! It’s so powerful once you understand it. It’s right in front of us everyday and has EVERYTHING to do with moving forward in your home business, your career, your job, your relationships, and most importantly your life.

What is it? Do you want to know what’s the biggest hindrance to having what you deserve? Get a pen and write this one down…..It’s the choices that you make!

Let me explain so you can see how this works. Once you get this under control, you can do anything. It’s that precise!

Here’s an example of what I mean. Let’s say you’re not currently working. Suppose you’re on an interview. The job is not exactly what you want, or it doesn’t really represent who you are but you get the call & they offer you the position. So you decide to talk it over with a friend to see what they “think”, to go over the pros and cons.

You say, “I’d really rather be doing such and such.”

Your friend answers, “You know, you can’t always get what you want. You have to compromise here and there, and you’ve got to be able to survive. The world is changing and everyone must take what they can get in today’s economy. You need a job. You should take it.”

You hang your head and agree. After all, you should be thankful to be offered a job, right? This is where it gets tricky, but here’s what’s happening in this scenario. Your thoughts and words are always creating and developing your reality. In every moment. Whatever comes to you is a result of your thinking and actions, whether recent or from the past.

When you agree to do something or accept something with the thought of surviving, or because you believe you have no other options, then you include that in your energy field. So it’s not just the job that you have compromised on. What you’ve done is included the thought process into your life of survival mode….I must take this job to survive, so survival is exactly what you’ll get! It’s now out there in your energy field and will dictate who you’re being and what you’re willing to accept.

This is true of any situation you might find yourself in right now. Life will always give you opportunities to show you who you are and to make it reality by thinking it’s ok. By accepting mediocrity, you accept defeat! If you think something, that’s your truth, and life will show up to validate your thinking.

Want to change that reality? Change your thinking and what you’re speaking about. Remember, when you OK something, you include it into everything. Notice what it is you really desire, and what it is you accept. Are they a match?

In that equation you can uncover powerful keys that will point you in the right direction of where to unlock deep seated blocks. Just by thinking and speaking the right thoughts, you can unravel the threads of your thinking and remove blocks that have been stopping you time and time again.

Attitude Makes All The Difference

Your attitude is so important. Getting up in the morning with the proper attitude (not the right attitude, there is a major difference) will determine your days success or failure. The importance of having the proper attitude for success in anything you do in life, is probably the most important thing. If you don’t maintain the proper attitude, you will face struggles and obstacles that shouldn’t be there. The right attitude eliminates these obstacles.

I’ve seen bad attitudes destroy network marketing businesses. I’ve seen people with great enthusiasm and promise get off to an excellent start, then later crash and burn because their attitude went sour. It’s a sad thing, and we must all be on guard against letting anything poison our attitude.

Here is a short video by Zig Ziglar that nicely illustrates some of the reasons that attitude is SO important. Zig talks about a lady who had a horrible and bitter attitude toward her job, and how he helped her turn everything around and become thankful for what she had.

This video can apply to anything in life, whether it be a job, MLM, Network Marketing, Traditional Business, Your Family, Sports or anything else important to you.
