The Power of “Why”
You hear this all the time right? You need a “why” to be able to grow your business. You must have a burning desire (there’s that “why” thing again) to motivate you on a daily basis.
Call it what you want…
To be a successful Networker Marketer, MLM’er, Leader or business person period, you must first commit yourself to mastering the fundamentals. Immerse yourself in training….by reading books, listening to audios, working with people who are more successful than you. Get excited about practicing the fundamentals every day. Start with your motivation, since the key to success is actually located between your ears — your mind. Most small business owners, especially Network Marketers simply want to make a lot of money and don’t want to worry about such basic topics such as motivation. Yet without self education, you will give up when things go wrong or get tought rather than learn, adapt and ultimately succeed. You must practice mastering your own emotional state every day in order to create the ongoing level of success you deserve.
The first step to staying motivated is goal setting. With goals, we create our destiny! We must have a big enough “why” to succeed. We must have enough compelling reasons to drive towards whatever it takes to achieve our goals. Purpose is stronger than outcome. Who you become in the process of achieving your goals is the real purpose.
Why do goals work?
“You become what you think about.” If you develop a consistent and gut wrenching focus on something, you’ll experience it. The challange is that most people simply are not driven. Without passion for your real purpose you’ll never reach your true goal.
Setting a goal is acknowledging to your conscious and subconscious minds that where you are is not where you desire to be. Having a goal creates positive pressure, which is necessary to move you forward — you must learn to manage pressure.
Here’s how to create a big enough “why” for each of your goals.
Write down all you will gain from achieving your goal — why you’re committed to making it a reality.
Write down what it will cost you not to achieve the goal.
Part of what drives us in life is our desire, our hunger. Seeing and admitting that things are not as good as we want them to be creates a drive to make our lives the way we believe they should and must be.
Take some action. Complete this small assignment below and watch your success steadily increase.
1. List the specific areas of your life or business that are not what you want them to be.
2. Write down what you would have to believe to consistently follow through on the transformation of your life or business.
3. List the set of beliefs you would have to embrace to achieve your ultimate goals. What would you really have to believe, in order to not only set your goals but really achieve them? What would you have to believe to make your life the masterpiece it deserves to be?
4. Write down why you must change these situations now and why you know you can. You’ve probably already handled much more difficult situations at some point in your life. If you haven’t, now is the time to do so.
If you’re business, or your life, isn’t what you desire it to be and you aren’t on the road of more success, then you simply don’t have a big enough why. It’s not that people are lazy. It’s simply that they have goals that do not inspire them to act. Get passionate about your goals and you literally can write your own ticket to success!

Goal Setting – Great Videos
It never seems to end. Everyone has ideas as to how and why goal setting is important. If you haven’t set our goals for 2010 yet, then now is the time. There are five important, yet simple steps to follow, which I believe are necessary for seemingly impossible goals to be achieved.
Marketing at Christmas
Wow I still can’t believe how quickly 2009 flew by. Only 2 days left until Christmas! Ho Ho Ho! Are you ready? I mean really ready?
With Christmas in the air, I know I’ll cause some people to roll their eyes and move on because the thought of the approaching silly season can be a little too much for many. I’m OK with Christmas. I actually enjoy giving. I love how people are so polite this time of year, and I get excited seeing the excitement mounting in my children as the wonderful day approaches. I know Christmas has become commercialized in the eyes of so many, but I’m going to take a chance and hope that for many of you, this is the time of year when we start to put our thoughts and hopes for marketing campaigns in 2010 down on paper, while reflecting on the year that was and how we could have all done things better.
With this in mind, I would like to get everyone thinking about your Christmas wish lists as marketers, if you have a small or home based business. It’s not as fun as jotting down your personal wish list and handing it to your business partner or associate, but it’s a nice way to think about the New Year and the important tasks that ensures 2010 will see you and your team make vast improvements to your tactics and realign strategies to fit current business goals. It can also be a highly rewarding and perceptive exercise to conduct with those you work with and your team members if you are in the Network Marketing or MLM arena. Use it as a chance to brainstorm and collect important feedback on the year’s progress – you’ll be surprised at how useful a little reflection can be.
Alright, back to the wish list!
Once you’ve had time to reflect and gather your thoughts about campaigns and strategies from the past, then you can begin your wish list for 2010. I’ve decided to share a couple of common marketing wishes below for everyone to consider and if you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment on this blog. Any marketer willing to share their own wish list for 2010 can do so by leaving a comment as well. No need for massive detail if you can’t be bothered, but wouldn’t it be good to see how your dreams (needs) and goals (wants) compare with industry colleagues? A lot has happened in the last 12 to 18 months, so go on… jot down your thoughts, leave a comment, and let’s see where people’s priorities lie for the New Year 2010.
Success Trade Off – Getting to Where You Want To Be
Success is a very expansive and indescribable concept, having many diverse definitions, significance and meanings for each individual. To really accomplish success, you must create your own concept of success.
The fact is…you negotiate all day long as part of your struggle for success. You negotiate with yourself and with others. Subtle sometimes, off the charts at other times. Negotiating occurs continuously, as your every desire is met, and as you appeal to yourself that your goals will be met.
As your negotiation progresses, often you find yourself trading off ideas and even your own values as a person just to achieve success.
Please understand, the only trade off that you should ever make in order to achieve financial, emotional and spiritual success is changing your attitude! Turning the negative to positive and preparing yourself for the shortcomings that will (and I stress will) come your way.
A successful individual understands this reality clearly. You must work persistently to establish success in all areas of your life.
The reality of life consists of happiness as well as difficulties. You can’t dodge difficulties, they are part of your journey to success. Yet you can be well prepared for those difficulties and know how to deal with them.
Is success accomplished by trading off your family for great wealth? Is success attained by trading health for money? Lasting and true success is realized by generating balance in every aspect of your life, adding prosperity in all forms everyday on a regular basis.
Keep in mind that when you get to that specific position or obtain that certain goal, there is no other trade off, but that success has progressed.
You tradeoff your old self to a new positive and motivated person! Living each day with Attitude, Charisma, and lazer focus working towards your next set of goals.
Success is never a destination, it’s a journey that you’re on daily. Success is achieved through giving emphasis on the importance of your blessings with affirmative thoughts, actions and words.
No need to trade off, success continues to flow, to thrive and to increase. Ones success should not die in exchange for another. Success is success, in all aspects!
Success Breeds Success!
Here are some guidelines to assist with you Success Journey…..
Determine what it is you want. Remember, you have the ability to have anything that you desire in your life. When you establish more goals, then there is the possibility that you will achieve more in life. Having a clear vision enables you to have direction what route to take and you are guaranteed that you will reach that goal.
Write down your goals. Write all of it down and affirm it. Make concrete plans and pull everything into your mind. Writing your vision will enable you to pull your spiritual, physical, and emotional powers into alignment to accomplish your goals and vision. Your body, mind and the subconscious within will work together and attract positive forces.
Establish a “time frame” for all your vision and goals. Fix a target that you need to accomplish for a certain period of time. Set deadlines for your goals, so that there will be more possibility that you can accomplish it. Then, after you have accomplished a certain goal, move on to the next. This is what I mean by success that flows.
Accomplishing your goal takes work in succession. Make a record of the actions that you must do to accomplish each goal. Map it in such a manner that it will be easy for you to follow, such as the most important ones come first.
Examine your list of activities and make sure they are in order. Work out on a step-by-step comprehensive plan to accomplish your goal. Never delay and accept no excuses, start on the first activity now! While you are working on an activity, do not move to the next one until you are finished the activity your currently working on.
Move ahead and never be afraid to achieve success. There are no tradeoffs, just a stronger, more positive, more aggressive and more complete “YOU”. Success flows and you never have to trade off success in one aspect for another. Move on and live that life the way you deserve it to be!
Success Breeds Success
