10 Questions to ask Yourself
Have you ever thought about your future? Like where will you be in 10 years? Being all that you can be, is not only in the Army. I often see myself somewhat content with my life. Things are good! Every day I tell myself “I deserve more!” Just this one self talk moment drives me daily, and gets me up in the morning to aspire for more success in my life.
And here’s the thing. We’re all pelted with challenges. Some overcome and some submit. Honestly it shouldn’t even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we deserve to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream.
They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks…oh ya just watch me!
Here are 10 Personal Development questions to ask yourself. Write them down and read them regularly. That old dog will be jumping through hoops before you know it.
1. What do I really want or deserve?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about doing them during the day right? BS….we all have the same time in a day. You must learn to schedule your time. Find something you’re good at. It will help realize that small steps towards improvement is possible. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.
2. Should I really change?
Today’s generation has taken another level of redefining ‘self’, or at least that’s what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?
If history has taught us one thing, it’s the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Sixties, Seventies or Eighties style wouldn’t appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance. My daughter still thinks I’m crazy everytime I get on a dance floor and “Takin Care of Business” is playing…..take that 8:15 to the city baby…..
3. What’s the bright side in all of this?
With so much happening around us there seems to be no room for even considering that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!
4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?
There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, shirt, tie, purse, and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.
5. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you deserve to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.
6. Am I happy at where I am today?
It’s an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!
7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?
So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit. Not to appeal to others.
8. How much could I have?
I suppose in this case there is no such thing as having too much or too little. It’s more on how badly you really need it. Saying…I’d like to have lots of money, is fine, but the question is….how much are you willing to work for it?
9. What motivates me?
What motivates you? It’s an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of them may be the hardest part. It’s not like you can’t have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that’s it. Just try it piece by piece.
10. What Really Makes Me Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you really deserve.

Time Management – You deserve it!
One of the most overlooked skills in the business world is time management. Without this you will never be able to achieve your maximum level of success. Time management skills go a long way in ensuring that you get all of your work done on time and efficiently. There are a couple of tips that you can follow to make sure that your time management skills are the best they can be.
1. Keep an Activity Log to stay Focused.
By keeping a log of your daily activities you’ll soon be able to find out where you’re losing valuable time. After a couple of weeks of logging you may discover you’re taking an extra morning coffee break everyday, costing you over an hours worth of work time each week. This may not seem like a lot of time, but over the course of a year you have cheated yourself out of 52 hours of productive work time! Imagine what you could have accomplished, and how much money you could have made during that time period.
2. Setting a Schedule Daily
Every night before I head off to bed, I plan my next day. I used to do this in a day planner, now it’s so easy to do this on the computer or even on your PA (I like to use a Black Berry….we all have our preferences). This next day schedule will help to ensure that you do not stray from your work. If you know your tasks for the day you should block out time for each one. This will assist with keeping track of what tasks you have already completed, and the tasks that still must get done.
3. Daily Small Personal Goals
Small daily goals are a great way to make your time management skills work for you. Setting a goal that you will get an important project completed by a certain date will give you a great deal of confidence. Also, remember to reward yourself for reaching these goals. You worked hard to achieve them, and everybody deserves a reward every now and then. Golf Anyone….did I just say that out loud???
4. Work Shops
Time management work shops can be very helpful if you are looking to improve your skills. Please ensure the work shop you want to attend is conducted by a professional in the field of time management. You may also want to suggest to your company or your whole office or even your team you’re working with online attends a work shop. Chances are you’re not alone when it comes to improving time management skills. Attending a seminar may be all you require to take your skills to the next level.
5. Purchase Books or DVD’s
I like to read and also watch DVD’s to enhance my skills in any area. It’s so convenient, and can be scheduled into your day. Taking a minimum of 30 minutes a day to enhance yourself is a must! So please
schedule that amount of time daily for YOU! Over the past couple of years hundreds of books and DVD’s have been made available to the public on how to improve time management skills. The best thing about purchasing these tools is that you can use them over and over again.
