Scheduling and Calendaring For Home Business Success – Especially MLM

Being your own boss is tough, and once you understand how to run your home business you will love it!

One of the keys to being consistently productive and effective running a business is organization and the ability to schedule and calender time properly. We all like to think of ourselves as organized, but in reality, is this the truth?

Have you ever found that in spite of your best intentions, you just couldn’t accomplish everything you set out to do in a given day or week? Is it because you’re trying to cram too many things into your days and weeks, or is it because you just need to work on your organization and time management skills? Do you find that you create a schedule, and then get distracted with so many other things that you can’t finish your work?

Regardless of the reason, it’s vital to get organized! You’re not going to experience Work at Home, MLM, or Networking Marketing success until you can get your time organized. Once you manage this, you will be able to see what areas you require assistance in and which areas you can maximize.

Scheduling your time is important, and calendaring time with others is vital!

Even though some of us think that having to be organized stifles creativity, it really makes it much easier to be creative – you’re freer to create the business and life you deserve (sounds like fun when I put it that way, doesn’t it?).

So let’s talk about time scheduling:

First you need some tools. They don’t have to be elaborate or fancy, so don’t worry. You need a calendar (one with space to write things down) and a diary or journal. Once you have the tools you’ll use, you need to commit yourself to truly making use of them. This is how you’re going to begin to get organized and then stay organized. Most email clients have great tools attached to them, like calendars, journals and to do lists.

The first step to learning to properly schedule your time is to see how you’re using your time right now. This is where you will use your diary or journal. For a week, don’t change your schedule. Just keep very close track of what you do with your time. Record what you’re doing in some detail, how you’re feeling (tired, restless, alert, etc), and write down the time you start each new activity – even if it’s just taking a few minutes to chat on the phone with a friend or associate.

After one week, look at your journal. What can you learn from it? That you are spending a lot of time chatting or day dreaming? Maybe you’re spending a lot of time doing things that should be eliminated from your workday. You might be surprised to see how much time you spend on Facebook or checking email.

Look closely to find areas where there is waste. You don’t have to check your email ten times a day! You can easily reduce that amount to three times. And you don’t have to answer every phone call that comes in – in fact, if you’re working, you should eliminate the distraction of the phone – that’s what voice mail is for. Schedule time each day to return calls – and then limit the amount of time you’re on each call if you can!

Now let’s look at the tasks you must accomplish daily and throughout the week:

Make sure to include time for emails and communicating with colleges, downline members, affiliate, potential new business partners and potential recruits, along with social networking, marketing activities, etc. Keep in mind that you also must have time for your personal life, and your “day” job, if you’re still working outside of the home. Oh, and don’t forget that you have to sleep at some point!

What I like to do is to create to-do lists and prioritize them. Certain things will have to take place at certain times. They can fit into your schedule without any more analysis if you’ve deemed them necessary. Now look at what is left. Large tasks can be broken down into smaller ones – this will help you keep from getting overwhelmed.

Now here is where things get interesting! It’s time to schedule your work time, and indeed your whole life to some extent. If you’ve made notes about the times of day that you’re feeling more alert and energized (and you should have), you can start working your schedule to fit those times. You can use higher energy times for doing certain tasks, and you can also use the information you’ve collected to see if some simple rest or dietary changes might help you find more “energy” time during your day. Oh and don’t forget to exercise.

As you start to develop your schedule, keep the following in mind:

1. Stay realistic – you only have so much time each day.
2. Make sure the things that you absolutely must do are scheduled and that you’ve left enough time to complete them.
3. Don’t over-commit yourself.
4. Remember to expect the unexpected – leave some contingency time in your schedule for surprises.

Once you’ve built your schedule, understand this: remember that a schedule is fluid – it’s going to move and change, and remember that you can always go back to basics if you required – it won’t hurt to use your diary to track your habits occasionally to make sure you’re staying organized.

Oh ya….Dr. Phil says it takes 21 days to break a habit…..or something like that!

Television is a Time Waster – Grow Your Home Business Instead!

With all the cool new technology…..PVR’s, DVR’s, whatever you call them. They are hard drives that work with your television service provider that allow you to record multiple programs to watch at a later date. So stop wasting time watching television.

Turn it off!

Your television may be one of the biggest time wasters in your life, and your life is far too valuable to waste watching silly, inane programs that bring little or no value into your life and keep you from getting work done, or playing with your kids, or getting exercise, or doing other productive things.

While there are some very worthwhile programs that are presented on TV such as award winning educational shows, shows about history and science and even some programs that are light-hearted and entertaining enough to leave us feeling uplifted, there are many, many shows that are just a waste of time. That’s time that you could spend working on building your home based business, or doing other things that are fulfilling and important.

Think about the amount of time you spend each day and each week watching TV. Usually when someone watches television, they aren’t doing much else. It’s too distracting to work on business.

TV also does not count as quality time with family and friends. Sitting in front of the TV, eyes fixed on the screen, energy focused on the show that you’re watching doesn’t allow for anything that could rightly be described as quality time. Instead, you could be outside playing a game with your children, or learning a new hobby with a friend, or going for a jog together (spending time together and getting in shape!).

Do I watch TV? Yes. I watch it when I have to time to watch. When I do it’s a recorded program, like a basketball game, or movie. Our family usually has movie night on Saturday nights. Do we do that every week? No. We do it when we can.

Did you know that TV takes some vital things away from you besides time for working on your business and spending quality time with family and friends? It takes away time that you could be spending on healthy things like going to the gym or going for a bike ride (fresh air and sunshine!). Some people find that sitting in front of the television contributes to weight gain (less exercise and more temptation to snack while watching).

Plus – television watching has been found to affect your brain. Studies have shown that TV watching leads your higher brain centers to shut down. These are the areas that involve critical thinking. Other studies have shown that reading and listening to music stimulates your brain because doing these things actually forces your brain to use its creativity to visualize what’s going on, so they are better activities.

I knew AC/DC was good for my brain……you too can be Thunderstruck!

Here are some hints that can help you watch less TV, leaving you more time (and brain power) for other interests and for your business:

  • See if you can go without television for a whole week. This will help you reframe your thinking about the importance of TV watching.
  • Make a list of the shows that are important to you and that you especially like. List them in order of priority.
  • Create a TV watching schedule that allows you to watch TV for a maximum of one hour per day.
  • Find other things to do – start an exercise program, play games with your kids, start a new hobby, go on a date, work on your MLM marketing plan, write articles, work on your MLM social networking – you get the idea.
  • You really don’t have to get rid of your TV. But do put it in its place. Part of being successful in the home based business arena, MLM, Network Marketing, or whatever you call your business and especially in life is getting your priorities straight.

    TV is definitely NOT a priority.

    Time Management – Your Family or Your Home Based Business

    Think for a moment…….hmmmmm

    What are the two most important things for your future happiness? I hope you didn’t say your collection of music and your car! Pleeeaaase No!

    The two most important things for your future happiness are your family (which includes friends) and your business! Without these things you will be unlikely to achieve great financial success, and if you did you wouldn’t have anyone to share it with.

    Because these two things are both so important to living a happy and fulfilling life, you want to make certain to give as much attention possible to each of them.

    That’s why it’s crucial to understand (Daniel Son, wax on wax off…LOL) how to properly balance your work and family life – so that you get the most from, and give the most to, both of them.

    When you think about balance, you might think about trying to keep everything perfect. 50-50. Equal. That’s good, but try to think of this instead (because it will make things easier for you) – balance is a process, and things don’t get into balance and then just stay that way. It’s something you must work at and be willing to make adjustments to.

    So I’m NOT going to share with you how to create balance and give you the idea that once you’ve done that you can forget about it. I’m going to share with you how to create balance between your family and business and then how to continually keep that balance in check, knowing that some days might seem a bit out of whack one way or the other. It’s the overall effect of balance you’re striving for, along with making sure that the important things aren’t being forgotten.

    While your home based business (that could be MLM, Network Marketing, Direct Sales, Internet Marketing, Real Estate, Financial, Insurance, Public Relations, or whatever) is critical to your future, your happiness and your financial well-being, you’re in business for the benefit of you and your family. You’re doing this so that you can achieve financial freedom, and the freedom to choose how to spend your time.

    The two concepts of time management and prioritizing come into play when working to achieve business/family balance. Take time to list your priorities. Which business activities are must-do things? Which ones are things that would be nice to do and certainly helpful, but not vital to your ultimate success? Which can you outsource?

    What about your family and friends – your personal life? What things don’t you want to miss out on? Going to your child’s basketball games? Taking your spouse out for a date once a week? Spending an evening with friends? Is it a priority to attend regular religious services, or to participate regularly in a hobby or club with friends. What can be safely set aside? Watching TV? Can you go out one night less per week?

    Take a good look at what your priorities are remembering that both business and personal life will suffer without enough attention. There will be places where you’re simply wasting time and energy. Let your family and friends know that this business is something that you must pay close attention to – help them understand what your long term goals are. But keep in mind that without family and friends, your success won’t be worth it. They need your attention to.

    Now look at the time you have available to spend on both your personal and home business life. See how you can schedule your time in order to accommodate both aspects. Yep, you may have to cut some things out. You may need to consider outsourcing certain tasks, or getting up an hour early to get some work done.

    Remember that balance is like walking a tight rope; you have to constantly be paying attention and making adjustments so that you don’t fall to one side.

    Place proper value on both your family and your home based business and let go of the things that just aren’t important. That’s how you’ll achieve balance.

    The 80/20 Rule – What the Heck is that?

    Many people in the Network Marketing arena loosely use the term 80/20 rule? Well, if you haven’t heard it yet, you are going to now!

    The 80/20 rule is better known scientifically as the Pareto principle. Yep here comes my engineering background again. Basically, the principle is a “vital few and trivial many”. That 20 percent of something will be the driving force behind 80 percent of results. This principle or rule can be applied to just about anything.

    For example, on a sports team, it’s the star players that are going to be scoring the most points and bringing in the wins. I’m sure you’ve noticed that it’s always one player that wins the game, right. Although it’s a TEAM sport, there is always that one player that chalks up the win. The other players, the ones that serve as back up, also contribute to the team’s success, but not nearly as much. There are always a few stars that contribute the most, and several back ups that contribute significantly less. This concept can be pointed directly at your home based Network Marketing or Internet Marketing business!

    The 80/20 rule can be applied to your business in a couple of different ways, and you should be aware of and make use of both. The idea here is to run your business like the pulled-together, organized expert that you are. And if you don’t feel quite like an expert yet, keep working at becoming an expert!

    First let’s look at the 80/20 rule as it applies to your downline. I bet you can already figure out where I’m going with this. Your downline is a resource. Your downline helps you grow your business. If you have 100 people in your downline, it’s a fairly sure bet that 20 of those people are going to account for about 80 percent of your business. 20% of your downline likely accounts for 80% of your income. And the other 80% accounts for only 20% of your income.

    So what are the other 80 of your downline members up to? They’re working, too. But they may not have mastered what it means to be a top producer yet, so they aren’t bringing in the big results. They may never be star producers, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on them or kick them off the team. That only means that there is work to be done. Plus, these 80 downline members are essential for you to find your key 20!

    With your top producers, don’t assume that they are fine and that they can take care of themselves and need no help or coaching. While they may be doing very well, it’s still your job to provide constant support, encouragement and training to them.

    And what about the 80 percent that is lagging behind? Well, it’s time for you to kick things into high gear! First of all, remember that some people are going to be slow starters. It’s up to you to keep in touch with them and offer them as much training and support as possible. Remember that a slow starter today could be tomorrow’s star.

    Next, you can apply the 80/20 rule to general work practices – of all the work you put in to your business only about 20% will account for 80% of your income. It is your responsibility to figure out and focus on the key 20%.

    For both you and your downline, it’s important to take the time to look at work activities and figure out what is working well, what could be working better, and what’s taking up valuable time and producing little, if any good results.

    If you find work activities that are necessary, but that are holding you down because you’re not skilled at them, or you dislike doing them, what can you do to work smarter at them? Do you need to hire help? Often, by hiring someone to help you with tasks that should be helping, but aren’t, you can increase the overall productivity in your business and turn that task into one which makes a difference.

    Now, when you find a work activity that has turned into a complete waste of time, and is definitely not in the top 20 percent of results-getting business activities, ask yourself why this is and whether you just need to dump the task and focus on things that are working well.

    Make it work!

    The 80/20 rule can be applied to your downline and your work ethics and tasks.

    Focus on that top 20 percent that are producing 80 percent of the results.

    With your downline, see if you can help some of your slow-starters get a fire burning inside themselves to become stars. And with your work ethics, take time to learn how to fine tune your tasks and work smarter, not harder.

    Fear and Procrastination in Network Marketing and Internet Marketing

    Have you ever let Fear stop you from doing something? Fear of failing or even Fear of Success!

    This Fear leads to many things and most importantly procrastination.

    We have all experienced this at some point in our careers, right? Either in our real job, network marketing and MLM lives, or our Internet Marketing at home businesses. Did you know that this experience of procrastination and related fear go hand in hand and produce pain. Mostly sub-conscious mind pain.

    Fear! I’m sure you have heard the definitions before….people have told you Fear is defined as False Expectations Appearing Real or Actually Realized. Speaks for itself don’t you think? Consciously we all know that in our experiences, when we face our fears they are not really as bad as we originally thought; thus, false expectations appearing real or actually realized.

    Ok….so you’re probably wondering….What does this have to do with procrastination or even network marketing, MLM or even Internet Marketing?

    Procrastination is the putting off of tasks that we don’t really wish to do, that are distasteful, and especially the things we are afraid of attempting. Cold calling, setting appointments or the calling of leads would be a great example.

    You know how that phone call involves picking up that one ton receiver, dialling a strange number, with the unknown on the other side? OMG! Do I really know what to say? Maybe no one will answer and I will have dodged that bullet. What if someone does answer and then I will need to actually talk to them? I know I only have two to four seconds to make a positive impression. And only 30 seconds for them to make their decision! How will I posture myself? Can I posture myself? What the heck does that really mean anyway?

    What about that face to face meeting? That email I have to right? That website I have to build? That honey do list that’s been waiting on me for weeks? With all that’s involved we just completely put off and procrastinate making any kind of progress!

    Now the pain sets in. We’ve just gone through all of this self induced anxiety and decided not to do anything so we procrastinate for just one more day. Oh! And that makes us feel like we’ve once again failed in our personal and business life. Another defeat in working our home based business. OMG! I’m never going to make this business work. My spouse will think I am a loser because I can’t get the work completed she wants me to. Maybe I’ll just go read some more motivational books. Yea! That’s the ticket! Perhaps I must work on my attitude! Make better goals! Develop that dream board! Then I won’t have to think about this failure.

    Positive thinking, and not stinkin’ thinkin’! Yea that’s it!

    Are you kidding me! Our fear is there because we don’t have the “Skill Set”! Period!

    You have no idea what to say or what to do!

    Do you see the process here? Very simple but very devastating at the same time, right?

    First we have the idea of having to do something to grow our business or personal life. Fear sets in and all of those fearful thoughts run through our head. At the same time the pain of the fear sets in and our imagination exaggerates the consequences, we start feeling the pain of anxiety and then we decide to just put it off for right now. We always tell ourselves we’ll be better off if we do it tomorrow especially after reading more motivational books, working on our attitude, and adjusting our goals.

    Look at this! Who are we all fooling? We’re fooling ourselves with this thinking. Isn’t it clear how ridiculous this is? Logically, we all know this is just another part of negative thinking; stinkin’ thinkin’ which then becomes sub-conscious mind deterioration. Then we quit!

    Wait a minute, back the boat up!

    Quitting is not an option! We all have our aspirations, our dreams and visions are on the line here. We all know what strong financial potential network marketing, MLM and Internet Marketing have to offer. Like no other business model in the world, Network Marketing is gaining huge popularity. And with it, we can better our situation and help others do the same!

    Are people in your business getting big monthly checks? So why aren’t you? It’s your “Skill Set”!

    So what do we do? Simple! This is where personal growth comes into play. We have all heard your business will only grow as much as you do, right? It’s true….Although it’s your personal “Skill Set” growth that’s important!

    Now is the time to get with your sponsor, enroller, upline, coach or mentor. Discuss your situation. Do what successful people are doing, and just listen in on what they say. Take good notes. But if they tell you to have a better attitude, set bigger goals, work on your presentation and just talk to more people….please run the other way! If they tell you this, find a better coach. Look for that mentor who will really share what’s wrong with the marketing training that’s out there today!

    Fear, false expectations appearing real or actually realized.

    Procrastination, putting off what we don’t want to do and know we should do.

    This all leads to feelings of failure, lower self esteem, feelings of not being worthy of our own success………………Bull S&%t! I mean come on and get with it! Bang your head against the wall (ok I’m just kidding about the head thing)! This is something that can and will be overcome by those of us empowered with “what to do and what to say” in all the situations we find ourselves in. It is a temporary challenge or bump in the road.

    I know what you’re thinking. People think Network Marketing and Internet Marketing are only for those who know what they are doing. The people with the knowledge and years of experience that become successful! How can I sell the Network Marketing model? Where do we start?

    Well, we could start at the fact that you are a part of an awesome profession that literally keeps the world market afloat. Really? Yes, my friend, you are part of a profession that keeps currency and product exchanges happening every day. Amazing isn’t it? That’s the first thought you need to have in order to be successful in this industry. If you are not proud to be a professional marketer, you are in the wrong place. If you don’t have a passion or pride about something, do you really think you will put all your time and energy into growing it? Absolutely not!

    This profession is not for the faint of heart. You’re going to hear the word no, lose money or have sign ups fall out at some point. In order to be successful, you have to understand this reality and be able to push yourself and move on. Let’s review why you’re here: You want to live life according to your own terms. You want to be home more often to spend time with family. You want to have funds available to put your family through the highest quality life they can have. Whatever your reason, you have to keep that at the front of your mind, because that is what is going to pull you through the trials you will encounter. You’re not a safe and secure person; quite contrary, you are a free and exciting person.

    You need a good mentor and coach. I’ve said it before. Find someone who has had some success in the industry and emulate what they do. Have them teach you the right “Skill Set”, and that is all about what to do and what to say. They’ve already gone through a lot of hardships to get where they are today. Unless you’re in the mood to throw money away and waste time, by all means ignore this. However, if you want to succeed quickly and efficiently, you will be wise to seek out a mentor who will share their strategies to help you reach your goals.

    It’s not your opportunity that sells, it’s you. Your product or opportunity is simply the icing on top of the cake. You can have the most life-changing product on the market, but if you are abrasive or incompetent, you are out of luck my friend. Invest in yourself before you invest in a bunch of products that deliver zero results. This means hooking up with the right mentor. Spending some bucks on books, CDs and listening in on webinars learning from the best is also an excellent way to enhance your skill set. Once you have the knowledge, you have the power!

    Not all mentors are created equally! Please remember this!

    Too many salespeople don’t practice what they want to say either in the camera or on the phone. They think they can simply wing it and be an effective marketer. These are the average people. The top producers practice how to close sales and definitely how to attract more people to them. Imagine if the president didn’t practice his speech. How loyal of a following do you think he would have if he had no conviction in his words simply because he didn’t prepare properly. Be part of the elite producers and practice.

    The good news is that we can all get past this fear, procrastination, and anxiety that learning or doing something new brings. I think Nike has nailed it on the head. When faced with personal challenges, “just do it!”

    5 Reasons Why Your Website Isn’t Working

    I hear this from newbie’s all the time. My website, blog, or ezine isn’t bringing me new business.

    And guess why?

    No one can find them!

    Their ideal client may be looking for someone exactly like them and their business. But when they type keywords into the search engines, they don’t show up until the 5th or 6th page.

    Did you know that over 50% of North American businesses, in this day and age, aren’t even on the web? And of those that are, very few come up on the first pages of search engines when prospects do a search for that business or product.

    It’s because a large percentage of the online businesses only really have an online business card, and not an online business.

    If you are a small business owner, service professional or entrepreneur, you know you must be on the Web. Consider these facts…..

    – It’s estimated that 79 million people will start a home based business using the internet in the next 5 years
    – As of June 2009 there are 1.7 billion internet users worldwide…that’s only 24% of the world’s population
    – 100,000 People per Day are being introduced to the internet
    – Over 75,000 new websites per day are coming online
    – 99.999% of these 75,000 have NO CLUE how the internet works

    With over 1.7 billion Internet users world-wide and growing every day, you can’t afford NOT to be on the Internet.

    Ok…have you figured out why your Internet marketing isn’t working like it should?

    Here are five common reasons, and what you can do about it.

    1. You have a blog, or website, or a newsletter but they don’t bring in new clients or revenues; readers don’t take action. Either it isn’t clear what you want them to do, or you don’t provide a simple way for them to get something for free in exchange for their email address.

    2. You have to wait for your web designer to respond each time you want to update your site. You don’t have the skills to do this yourself and feel like you are being held hostage by the web guy (or gal).

    3. You love your business and want to spend time with your clients and customers doing what you do best; instead you spend too much time keeping a database and following up with leads; your marketing isn’t automated.

    4. You have a great product and a good business model, but your site doesn’t get enough traffic. You know you need links back to your site in order to rank better with the search engines, but don’t know how to generate these.

    If you’re like most professionals, when it comes to your Internet marketing you are tired of so-called experts who tell you what you should be doing. Most gurus don’t actually help you implement the steps required to set up and use the tools you need; you know what you should be doing, but you don’t have an organized plan for breaking things down into do-able steps.

    Here’s some good news…

    You don’t need a big budget, a “geek” on staff, or any computer programming knowledge. You can get on the Web with no experience or special tech skills. Why? Because there are many new tools that make Internet marketing easy for everyone.     These are important foundation pieces for leveraging the Internet to grow your business. If you don’t have them, you will spend unnecessary time and energy for nothing. If you do have them, you need to use them properly. All five work together to automate your Internet marketing tasks.

    If you notice, a website isn’t even on this list. If you already have a site, it needs to be integrated with your marketing plan; if you don’t have one yet, start with a blog; you will find you will get better traffic and results faster.

    The good news is that simple online tools exist to make Internet marketing accessible and effective for the average business person.

    The bad news is that very few professionals take the time to learn how to make their Internet marketing easy, automated, inexpensive, and organized. Those that do grow their businesses exponentially and make money baby!

    Secrets to Dealing with Criticism

    Nobody likes to be criticised, but unfortunately, it is something that we are bound to receive one time or another. Some of us respond positively with nobility and detachment, yet many others get offended and keep it in until it leads to unnecessary suffering. Dealing with criticism is an important life skill and through it, we have the opportunity to learn and improve ourselves.

    Having what I would like to call….a successful sports background, I got criticized all the time. Coaches would yell at me, all the time, in an effort to push me and get the most they could out of me. I guess early on in my sports background, I didn’t think I had the qualities to be a leader. But thanks to thier persistance I developed those leadership qualities that I am able to teach others to obtain. I see it in my children today when they are playing sports. They don’t like criticism, I mean who does? So what I want to share with you are some tips to better handle any criticism you may encounter.

    Tip #1 – Respond to the suggestions, not the tone of the criticism

    People may make valuable criticism as suggestions. However, their tone and manner of criticism may appear aggressive or confrontational, and that is what we respond to rather than to the suggestions they are giving right? You must learn to separate the criticism from the style of criticism. Detach your emotions from the useful suggestions that may lie within that aggressive critcism.

    Tip #2 – Value criticism

    The problem we have quite often is that we don’t value criticism because we only value praise or recognition. You’re happy when people speak kind words, but miserable when they criticize right? But because criticism can be constructive, you can only progress by inviting it rather than expecting praise which might be insincere or non flattering.

    Tip #3 – Don’t take it personally

    This is the major problem which occurs with regard to criticism. When people criticize us directly, we should feel they are not criticizing our real self but just a misunderstood aspect of ourselves or what we may be trying to get across in conversation.

    Tip #4 – Ignore false criticism

    Sometimes we are criticized for no reason or justification and this can be painful. In cases like this, ignore it. If we remain silent and detached then the criticism is given no energy. But if we somehow fight it, we are giving it more importance than it deserves. Maintain a dignity that others will come to respect.

    Tip #5 – Don’t react immediately

    Responding too quickly because of feelings of anger or bruised pride may leave us regretting later on. Wait patiently and you will be able to rationalize and reflect in a calmer way.

    Tip #6 – Always SMILE

    Smiling, even if it is a fake one, can help us to relax more. It creates a more positive vibe. And if smiling actually aggravates the other person, then at least you know you’ve got one over on them.

    OK, now you ready for some Success Tips?

    Tip #1

    Successful Network Marketers utilize online automation tools to work for them twenty-four-seven, while they maintain their daily schedules. With the proper tools in place, a marketing professional will have a never-ending supply of prospects chasing after them.

    Newbie’s fail to leverage the power of promoting and advertising. This may be because they haven’t been taught this or they aren’t working with the right people?

    Tip #2

    Successful Marketers also understand how to publicize to their target audience. They do not have a one way approach to marketing. Professionals use different marketing systems to reach their audience.

    This is the complete opposite of the way that amateurs market. Generally Amateurs (I am not talking about you) promote a replicated company website that casts a large net to the general public, expecting to catch a few prospects.

    Tip #3

    Successful Marketers have a marketing funnel for their prospects, which allows them to only deal with highly qualified leads. The promoting funnel is another tool that saves the professional time, and increases their revenue.

    Ask a beginner if they have a marketing funnel. Wha..what what marketing funnel!? Exactly.

    Tip #4

    Successful Networkers sell the solution to people’s issues, they don’t sell a company. They understand the psychology of people. They know that people are just interested in the benefits that come with what they are offering. They want their Problems solved, they do not want a company.

    And here comes the beginner (I’m not talking about you) throwing up all over people with their verbal diarrhea about their company and their products. OMG! And then they wonder why it’s so hard to make any money in this thing.

    Tip #5

    Successful Network Marketers have a step by step system in place that prepares the new person to make money. They also coach and produce new independent leaders in their business.

    Amateurs don’t have a simple system or a professional training forum for their new partners to plug into. Let’s not mention the adult day-care that they created (Remember I’m not talking about you)

    Tip #6

    Successful Network Marketers are continually training and improving themselves. They attend promotion trainings, and personal development meetings. They spend thousands a month on new ideas and concepts. Some may even turn their cars into a traveling varsity. Go to any Successful Network Marketers home and have a peek at their library. You sometimes will find tons of books about their craft and books about mindset.

    Newbie’s customarily attend one event or training, and think that’s it. One event or training is not about to make them a success. This is a continuing process. This is not a 30 day, wait and see kind of industry. This industry deserves a long term commitment, not a ‘let me try my luck’ lottery ticket.

    So those are my six tips. Be sure that the person you work with uses systems, practices what they preach, and that they have an interest in your success.

    Who Is Gerry Schroeder

    I live in beautiful Northern Ontario Canada. I am married to the most incredible woman. She’s my best friend and soul mate. Together we’ve been blessed with two AWESOME children.     I have over 20 years in the home business industry especially in online and Network Marketing.     I grew up in a family of 7, which wasn’t always easy. There were many challenges. Like using the only bathroom we had (one bathroom for 9… yeesh), to jamming into a car that only held 5 so we could visit relatives or go on trips. I love my family dearly. My 2 brothers, 4 sisters and wonderful parents. I learned early on it was survival of the fittest. Dinner was always crazy, and if you were late, well you may not eat. My parents were AWESOME while growing up and I learned so many valuable lessons. From a good work ethic, treating others the way you want to be treated, respecting your elders and having a competitive spirit.

    I was big into sports and always worked hard to be the best I could be. I think sports, especially team sports, allowed me to develop and maintain a competitive spirit….you know that “together everyone achieves more (T.E.A.M) attitude”! This attitude is so important in anything you do.

    My parents didn’t have good educations, and what they lacked in education they made up in work ethic. Being of German decent, my parents were the hardest working people I knew. No one could out work my dad. He would never give up. He always found a way to get things done. I remember one evening while I was studying for exams my father shared some wisdom with me, that I hold so close and share with everyone I work with. I was getting frustrated, tired and just about ready to pack it in. My father noticed this came over to the table and sat down and just started talking to me. Asking me how my day was, how Volleyball practice was and what happened at school. Then he asked me if I truly wanted to be the best. I wasn’t sure what he meant by that. My father replied……you want to be a great Volleyball player right, you want to be a Chemical Engineer right, and you want to be in the top of your class right. Of course I said…ya. Then my father said…..NEVER GIVE UP! ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO GET WHAT YOU WANT. My father passed away in 2005 after battling cancer, and he is truly missed.

    Doesn’t that make sense, and now I understand it’s about what you deserve in life and not want you want that makes the difference in who becomes successful and who doesn’t.

    As a network marketing veteran I use the Internet quite extensively, while maintaining the honored positions of husband and dad to my wife and children. I’m also a team player to those I work with professionally and love focusing on new entrepreneurs who have embraced this wonderful industry.

    My passion is empowering other individuals, and new entrepreneurs, who have embraced the work from home industry to believe in themselves in all areas of their lives by developing a “No Matter What Attitude”.
